I didnt like leaving my room, I often feared going to class. I knew I wasnt liked by osme people and I was an easy target. Easy to make fun of, easy to bully, easily knocked down. I didnt have a guardian or anyone to protect me and I knew it was rare that people were lining up to WANT to be my guardian. I wasnt very nice, I had a reputation for starting trouble. When I was pissed it was in everyones best interest to stay the fuck out of my way. I wasnt afraid to bust a few heads.
A sigh escaped my lips as I walked into the common, avoided the looks that everyone gave me. Public Enemy Number One was how I often thought of myself.
I walked ahead, skipping a few people in line and grabbed a tray, piling food onto my tray and made my way down the line, of course...it was just my luck that as I turned around to wlak to a table a girl, shorter than I am but she was a Moroi bumped into me, knocking my tray over, thankfully I'd swept the food up before it hit the floor. A gush of air swept the food carefully back on to my tray and I half smiled before turned a hard look to the other girl and pushed her back a bit "Respect my space, stay out of my face." I spoke in a slightly angry tone before grabbing my tray which was still being supported by the air i'd put around it.
Why people even bother to come near me or even try to be nice to me was a mystery to me but I couldnt be mean to them just because they wanted to talk...I was rarely mean but today was just one of those days. It started simple enough, I'd gotten up only to fall on to the floor, on the way out of my room I tripped and landed on my ass...Bad days meant bitchy attitudes for me.
I had just settled into a chair when a boy, I assumed he was a royal given the way he turned his snobby nose up as he passed...he'd bumped into the bag which i'd just settled on the floor, spilling the contents of my bag on the floor "Pick it up." I spoke bitterly, looking up at him as he chuckled a bit with a look saying 'I'd rather not' or 'why dont you pick it up?'
I snapped up from my seat, shoving him back harshly. Royal or not, he knocked my bag down, he was going to pick it up "Today has been a bad day, pick it up..." I repeated but when he walked away, I shook my head, sweeping him a good foot off the ground and made him float there for a few seconds "You can just hang there...I'll let you down after I eat..." I mumbled, turning to sit back at my table...I didnt care who saw, I wasnt about to be pushed around by someone like him.

Using our elements during school was something that was not allowed- or taken lightly- no matter how badly you wanted to use them. You use them; you will find yourself in your dorm room for the rest of the year. My element was fire, therefore my temper would get out of hand. Was it my fault? Who knew? I only know that I must keep my temper in check, for fear I might just blow the top and go berserk. Luckily I had myself my own guardian to keep me in check, even if he was one I loved and quite possibly would end up hurting if I can not seem to let my ears hear him when I am in that state of mind. My only focus would be the person I was going crazy on.
Somehow I believe I have shadow working in me. With my parents being killed by a strigoi and all, I had probably let that darkness in as I was morning for them. I did miss them, but Nate helped me get through it all. This was many of the reasons I loved him to death. Not literally. I would be devastated if death had consumed him, or even if a strigoi had taken him, changing him or even killing him. Could I bring myself to kill him, putting him out of his misery? Or would he not wanted to be saved from that horrible state, but only to live longer in it, let it consume himself once he was awakened. Awakened was a term strigoi used when they talked about their kind. When you are being changed by a strigoi, they have awakened you. No one wanted to be awakened into a life like that.
As a strigoi it is heard that you would never be able to see beauty, or even have emotions. You are cut off from that part of yourself. Forced to live as an emotionless monster, prowling on innocent creatures, draining them of their blood until there is nothing left of them. Stealing there soul and putting a family at misery, left to mourn for their lost family member. Getting changed by another striogi isn’t the only way you can become one. If you kill while you fed, you would become one. Like we say, strigoi are made, not born.
Life at the academy was like that of real life, in a way. There were people who used their element to bully, or even use it as evil against their peers. I was seeing a case of that now. Even if someone started it, does not mean you get to provoke it and use your powers against them. I was walking toward the common when I saw someone standing and arguing with a royal moroi. I strode over, getting a few looks from my peers along the way. Ignoring them, I headed for the girl, just in time to hear her last words.
"You can just hang there...I'll let you down after I eat..."
I tapped on the girl’s shoulder, hands crossed over my chest. "What do you think your doing?” I demanded, looking at the royal moroi, seeing his angry features. I wondered what his element was, and if he would even use it. I turned back to the girl, narrowing my eyes at her, seeing everyone start to gather around us.

It wasnt like I wanted to start trouble with the guy, he seemed harmless and he clearly didnt know how to use his own power very well. Here I was hanging him in mid air and he just stays there like some sort of coward. It was a bit pathetic to be honest. If it were me in his position, i'd have killed the person doing this by now but no, he would much rather stay there and glare at me "You know if you had just picked up my bag and everything you stupidly spilled I would have let you down by now...that and an apology would have been nice but clearly your too snobby to ever do something like that and seeing as no one around here has the guts to stand up to royal bastards and bitches like you and all your friends...I figure i'd put you in your place." I spoke, hearing him growl in anger.
"Oh, im sorry...did you want to come down? Too bad. Agree to clean up my things and I will let you down..."
I turned back to my food after I said that and smirking a bit, picking up my glass of water and took a sip. By now people had stopped eating to stare at the idiot girl bullying a royal but I couldnt be bothered to care. Royals were nothing more than glorified moroi who got everything they wanted because people were afraid to piss them off. They were all stupid, idiotic morons who would much rather sit on their asses and get pampered and be waited on hand and feet than to actually lift a finger to do anything to help.
God forbid one of them chose to help anyone but themselves.
I felt a tap on my shoulder and I turned around to face the girl, frowning a bit. I recognized the girl form one or maybe two of my classes but I couldnt be bothered to care. I also knew her element was fire. It was funny, one might think that my element would be fire as well given my heated temper but no, my element was air...the calmer element, the one that was just as useless in a fight as water.
"Well, call me crazy but it kinda looks like im levitating a boy. Trust me he deserves it." I replied, getting up from my seat and turned my back to her and then sighed "Fine, i'll let him down...im done eating anyway. Besides, Royals give me hives." I sneered before letting the royal drop to the ground with a soft thud "There, he's down. Satisfied?"

I was not one for sticking up for royal moroi, they pissed me off all the time. The school had said no using our elements when we were here, so if I did not be allowed to, neither would she. I wouldn’t allow her to use something I wasn’t allowed to. I crossed my arms, hearing the guy behind me getting really mad by now. I could have cared less about him, and any other moroi with royal blood, including those who paid with anything to just be able to hang out with them. They disgusted me. You were either royal, or you weren’t. Some where nice, but lately no royal has been nice. They come in and think they rule the school, I would be the one to put them into their place.
I felt my eyes narrow on the girl in front of me. She was an easy target, someone who wouldn’t expect to get a fireball thrown at them. I watched her closely, then turned to the guy behind me when he growled. I gave him a look that shut him up and turned back to the girl, seeing her already standing before me. I still stood a little taller, but not by much. I glared at her a bit.
“Well, call me crazy but it kinda looks like im levitating a boy. Trust me he deserves it.”
I only shook my head. ”Ya know, I wouldn’t mind, but it’s the fact that your using your powers, when the rest of us can’t.” then I recognized her. She was the one who had said something about my parents at that one part. I growled, clenching my fists a bit as I felt that heat rising up inside me, about to explode.
"Fine, i'll let him down...im done eating anyway. Besides, Royals give me hives.” "There, he's down. Satisfied?"
Another growl escaped my lips, hearing the guy behind me curse, and a group started to form around us. I let a small fireball create itself in my hand as I narrowed my eyes on her. ”I don’t like you, I just want you to know that.” I spoke, remembering a spell that one fire user used in class. I searched for it in my head before I smirked, allowing her body to be swallowed up in fire, but it never once burned her, just made her feel like she was being burned.

Please,
Think like a Rational person, if you would be so Kind. I know its not Fashionable, but can't we just Rewind? Could it be another Year, oh its just another Day. It's really just one more Thing, to send our Way.[/blockquote] Pathetic. The words crossed through his mind over and over as he walked through the hall and into the commons. The smell of food wafted into the hall, and his nose wrinkled a little. Fish. He shook his, head, trying to rid himself of the odor. He had finished with a young class of first year guardians. Dorian sat in Fetal position in the corner of his room, and by the time they class had emptied, completely oblivious to their young, fuming porfessor, who was sitting in the corner of the room staring at nothing.
None of them took the class seriously. They laughed, danced around when they mock fought together, falling on lazy feet. Hell, no one knew what a machete was, except for a boy who seemed slightly strange, and by that time he was already angry. He sent them to sparring, and to his dismay, no one was a natural. It was going to be a long year.
"Don't judge people," he said quietly to himself as he walked through the doors of the commons. His eyes widened at a boy, who was dropping from being levitated a foot above the ground. He recognized him as a royal, but he couldn't clearly define who was doing it to him.
Strange, he thought as he looked around for the culprit. They weren't hard to find. She was sitting wih an empty bag of food in front of her, another girl standing beside her. By their body language, he could tell they were arguing. Their peers forming a small circle around them didn't help much either. Being a mentor, Dorian felt there was nothing else he could do but confront the girls. He tried to walk up to them in a peaceful manner, but catching the strange boy from his previous class made him a little angry. His footsteps grew a little louder as he approached the two girls.
Fish wafted into his nose again, and he crinkled it. He crossed his arms when he reached them, speaking in his usual, quiet, baritone.
"Good afternoon, children." he said directly to the girls. He hoped they would be offended, thinking he was another of their felow pupils. Most of the students moved out quickly, a few shocked to see their dodgy Fighting Technique teacher out of his classroom and standing among the students. Most filed out quickly, moving off to do somthing else with themselves until class resumed, others sat down nearer to the argument so as to gauge what the beautiful professor would do to the naughty girls.
"I wonder," he staid, "Why you are arguing in such a promiscuous manner. Yet it is inapproprate for me to speak of such things, so shall we make a short trip into the hall?" He stood with his arms crossed, thinking of the time when he wil be freee to sit in his corner in his favorite position. He heard a few quiet, dismal groans of the pupils who were disapoited by his choice to move the argument from prying ears.

center] "Relax. Its just harmless floating. Its not like im flinging him out a window or cutting off the air to his lungs...I want a bit of payback, I dont wanna kill him." I replied to the girl simply, rolling my eyes a bit. Who the hell was this chick anyway? I dont remember asking for her opinion and yet here she was sticking her nose where it didnt belong.
When she said she didnt like me, I shrugged "I would care, why?...dude, seriously, there are alot of people that dont like me. One more person isnt going to hurt me." replied, my voice void of emotion. I watched her closely as she smirked and knew something was coming, she was panning something. When I saw the flames around my body, hot against my skin but not burning me, I sighed "Odd thing, fire...cut of the air around the flames and the fire ceases to exist. Fire cant exist without oxygen." I spoke in a calm tone but there was a hiunt of fear. Nonetheless I sucked all the air out from the area surrounding my body. It made it nearly impossible for me to breath but I managed a few short beathes "You dont like me, thats fine. More power to ya but if you ever pull a stunt like that again..."
I was cut off, my sentence stopped by the sound of a male voice. Children? He just called me a child? I turned to face him, hands clenched into fists "Who the hell are you calling children?..." I questioned, raising an eyebrow as I watched him. He didnt seem like anything special, just another guardian and another glance told me he was already a graduate.
Damn, he has every right to call us children. He's probably in his late twenties but that still didnt give him the right to butt in to other peoples business "We werent arguing. She just cant mind her own fucking business. I pulled one harmless little air trick and she gets in my face about it...the little bitch." I growled a bit, frustrated but knew that he was probably staff which meant I could do little to nothing about the way he handles the situation.
"Fine, lets go into the hallway." I agreed stubbornly and hesitantly before getting up and picking my bag up off the ground, walking toward the exit but purpoisely bumped into the royal moroi from before. He winced abit "Oh, im sorry...did Lena the big bad hundred pound girl hurt you? Toughen up, you cant be a pansy all your life rich boy." I murmured and moved into the hallway, keaning against the wall.

Getting in trouble was something I was used to. I wasn't one of those good girls, or most of the time I played that character. Teachers were the easiest to fool sometimes. They always wanted their students to succeed in their class, sometimes only passing them so they would not have to deal with them again. This teacher was no different, except for the fact that he was a bit strange. Always seeming to sit in the corner of his room toward the end of class. I hear he does so by a group of freshmen one day. Sure he was new, and of coarse he would be acting that way, they were freshmen for heaven's sake. No one would survive them their first week here. He was new, I could tell.
"Relax. Its just harmless floating. Its not like im flinging him out a window or cutting off the air to his lungs...I want a bit of payback, I dont wanna kill him."
A few different things ran through my head at once. Or was it different ways to piss her off? Either way I was feeling something dark inside me start to spark. What was this feeling, and why was I feeling it? I began to worry a bit, but that only caused me to feel it even more. Clenching my fists I growled at the girl. "It's the fact that your acting just like the royals. Thinking they can do anything to anyone anytime you want." I hissed a bit, turning back at the moroi behind me, seeing something in his expression flicker to fear. I turned back to the girl narrowing my eyes. "I busted up your face at the party the other night, I can do it again right here in front of everyone, it would give them some entertainment." I spoke, low to only where she could hear it.
This girl was the one who had caused those tears to fall from my eyes. The one who caused me to show weakness in front of the one I loved. I was just about to start something when I heard a voice call us children. I stopped and looked up at the teacher. Yep, it was the new one. He just could not mind his own business. I stood up straight and looked right at him. He had that look all new teachers had after teaching a freshmen class. That slightly puzzled and even drained expression. The one that seemed to always cast dark shadows under the eyes. It made his dark brown eyes even darker looking. He needed sleep.
"Why you are arguing in such a promiscuous manner. Yet it is inapproprate for me to speak of such things, so shall we make a short trip into the hall?"
I did not need a lecture from a fellow student. I did not need an oxygen lesson from this student either. I looked at her once more and glared a bit. "I don't need a lecture on my own element from you bitch." I whispered so only she could hear and followed him out of the commons, seeing my peers disperse from our area. Once we were outside of the lunch area, I crossed my arms over my chest.

He shut the door behind them quietly, the girls were cooperating with him... for now. Unfortunately, he was the new teacher, and even worse he was sure he had a little sheen of sweat converging on his brow, and he felt quite cold. Maybe just a fever. But he still had his duties as a teacher.
Too bad he didn't know what to say. Instead, he just looked at them, open mouthed and choking on words. It was embarrassing, and he wasn't quite sure how he would be able to say something. On the one hand, both of them were known trouble makers. Big trouble. He closed his mouth and thought. If he gave them a detention, they would surely hate him, and although he woulnd't care that much, he was sure either one of them were going to be in his life soon anyways. Intuition, he liked to call it.
He sighed, choosing his words wisely, "As I recall, you aren't aloud to use your powers in the comon room... So don't do it again. You," he pointed at Darya," Good job for keeping your head intact. But you," He looked at Lena, "You have the power of air. It is meant to keep you sane, to wipe away the bad memories. Use it wisely." He almost coughed at the end, this having been the most words he'd said in a year combined. He had a feeling he wouldn't last much longer in the school.
He was very surprised at how well the Fire controller had done. She was so calm, but he could see it there. In her posture, the way she looked at things, how she spoke. But she knew how to be respectful. He gauged that Lena was the one he would have the illluck of recieving again. He nodded to them, and turned his back, walking towards his room again. The lunch our was almost to a close.
His foot steps were hard, and then he remembered. They were in his next class. He groaned at the thought, wishing at that exact moment that he had just ignored the situation and let them both go on with their business. Instead, he was a fool, spoke too much, and was about to have an anuerism over the fact that he had to deal with loud children all day.
NOT DONE
